Marketing Manager

Toronto, ON, Canada
Full Time
Experienced

Verve is a fast-growing office furniture company on a mission to simplify access to great value office furniture. We're looking for a Marketing Manager to build and run our marketing program from the ground up.

About Verve

Verve is a commercial furniture dealer that makes great office furniture simple to access. We serve mid-market companies — typically 20–300 employees — that need professional-grade furniture without enterprise timelines or enterprise budgets. Our positioning: "Simple Access to Great Office Furniture."

We handle everything end-to-end: floor plan, design, product selection, delivery, and installation. Our clients include AstraZeneca, Questrade, Scotia, and Enwave. We carry a curated portfolio of manufacturer brands — Allermuir, Groupe Lacasse, Spec Furniture, Senator Group, Workspace 48, and others.

The Opportunity

This is a ground-floor marketing role at a company that's ready for it. You'll inherit some early foundations — a brand voice framework, an active content calendar, and an early social presence. But there's no established marketing infrastructure. You'll build the engine.

You'll report to the CEO and work closely with the sales team and the operations team. Your mandate: give Verve and Apricot a disproportionate share of voice in the mid-market office furniture space.

This is a dual-brand role. You'll market Verve to end clients (office managers, CEOs, CRE brokers looking for a furniture partner) and Apricot. Different audiences, different tones, one marketing person.

We're serious about using AI to punch above our weight. We don't have a big team or a big budget — but we believe the right person with the right tools can outperform agencies and large in-house teams. If you're excited about using AI to run a marketing program and build systems that would normally require 3-4 people, this is the role.

What You'll Own

Brand & Positioning - Own and evolve the Verve and Apricot brand voices — Verve is warm, professional, and direct (like a trusted colleague, not a vendor). Apricot is clean and straight forward (facts, not feelings). - Refine ICPs and buyer personas: Verve targets office managers, CEOs/founders, and CRE brokers at mid-market GTA companies ($5M–$100M, 20–150 employees). - Lead the Apricot national brand launch — positioning, visual identity, new website.

Content & Campaigns - Build and execute the content calendar — LinkedIn, blog, and event-triggered newsletters. - Plan and launch marketing campaigns — case study amplification, broker referral campaigns, phone booth product push, and dealer recruitment. - Create sales collateral — pitch decks, broker one-pagers, product spec sheets, dealer onboarding kits. - Manage social media presence across both brands with consistent, engaging voices.

Demand Generation - Build a marketing-sourced pipeline that generates qualified leads for the Verve sales team. - Develop and execute the Broker Referral Campaign — formalize the broker channel that currently drives referrals informally. - Support the sales team with lead lists, outreach templates, and campaign assets. - Track and report on marketing metrics: impressions, engagement, leads generated, pipeline contributed.

Website & Digital - Own the Verve website (verveoffice.ca) and Apricot website (apricotoffice.com). - Launch the Apricot website with full product catalog, phone booth landing page, and dealer portal. - Improve SEO, lead capture, and conversion across both sites.

Who You Are

  • 5-7 years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B, commercial real estate, furniture/interiors, or a related industry
  • You've built marketing programs before — not just executed someone else's playbook
  • Comfortable with design tools (Canva, Figma, or similar) — you can produce polished collateral without a designer
  • Experienced with email marketing, social media management, and analytics (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Mailchimp/HubSpot)
  • Fluent in AI tools for content creation, research, and workflow automation — or deeply curious and ready to learn
  • Self-directed. You'll be the only marketing person. You need to prioritize, execute, and measure without hand-holding
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, small-team environment where you wear multiple hats

Nice to have: - Experience in office furniture, commercial interiors, or workplace design - Understanding of dealer/manufacturer dynamics in the furniture industry - Experience marketing both a company brand and a product brand simultaneously - Portfolio of B2B content or campaigns you've built

Why Verve

  • Ground floor. You're not inheriting someone else's program. You're building it. Your fingerprints will be on everything.
  • Dual brand, dual audience. Marketing Verve to end clients and Apricot to the dealer channel is a rare opportunity to build two brands simultaneously.
  • AI-forward. We're building an AI-first company. You'll have access to the best tools and a leadership team that understands and supports AI adoption.
  • Real impact. Everything you do moves the needle. No bureaucracy, no approval chains.
  • Connected ecosystem. Verve sits alongside Clearspace, a leading GTA design-build firm. You'll benefit from shared relationships, projects, and brand credibility while building something independent.
  • Great space. Beautiful new office in downtown Toronto. The team is smart, driven, and genuinely fun to work with.
